Race strepen / Go fast stripes

english  Go Fast stipes on the Quest, who doesn't like them ? Provided that they are well placed, they can really accentuate the beauty of the Quest.

Unfortunately somebody else has chosen this design, otherwise I might have chosen this color combination.

On my way back on my commuter ride I suddely saw somthing on the tarmac. I couldn't see exactly what it was, mostly its just a dark patch of tarmac or a shadow, nothing to worry about.
I was just going downhill with great speed, until I realised too late what it was.
Big piles of sh...t. Neatly spread out over the small bicycle path.
What kind of idiot is walking his (or her) elephant on the bicycle path ?!?
I saw a small sh...t free space at the right side, but I was going full speed and to turn the steering wheel at full speed is not a good idea. So there was nothing left to do than bite the bullet and hope for the best.
What's that on the road ?
Fortunately there was no one riding behind me ...

While I was steering the front wheels along the piles, I suddenly realised there were 2 big open footholes between the front wheels !
This in combination with the small ground clearance made me tigthen my lips and close my eyes and wait for things to happen ...

Lucky for me I had just recently filled the F-Lites with fresh air and enough PSI so the Quest had a little more ground clearance.
Suppose I was riding with the lower Kojaks. The sharp edge of the foothole would function like a cheese slicer and the sliced off top would disintergrate against the tunnel, resulting in a shower of sh...t at the inside of the Quest.

The next rainy day shall wash away the dirt.

Tourtocht met 'Liever Liggend Gouda' / Ride with 'Liever Liggend Gouda'

english For English please scroll down.

english Usually I have other obligations on sunday but not on this sunday so I decided to join the ride of  'Liever Liggend Gouda'.

At the end of the morning I prepared the Quest and went for the start in Gouda.
Because I know the route to Gouda, I decided to experiment a little with the action cam. I put it on 'Time Laps' with an interval of 3 seconds and raced to Gouda.
Unfortunately I didn't start the camera or it didn't start, so I have to make this trip again ...

Once in Gouda ther seemed to be a market going on on the square. How on earth am I going to ride to the other side with a Quest ? Lucky for me the road on the outside of the market was not so busy and before I knew it I saw the first recumbent riders.

Gathering before the start
It was a motley crew of two man both called 'Jan' and both on a rowing bike, one Raptobike, two 'ordinary' recumbents, an Alleweder and a Quest.

Everybody was at the market, the street was ours.
Just a small piece of brick road before we can enjoy the smooth tarmac out in the polders ...

And soon we were out in the open.

Only one small drawback: despite the fact as mentioned in the travel directions that coffee would be served at about 30 kilometers, we had to travel another 7 kilometers ! ;-) And that's without taking in account the travel distance from Rotterdam to Gouda.
Eventually it was worth it, the coffee, applecake and whipped cream tasted very good.

Alleweder
It's a nice picture, such an Alleweder. With all its rivets and aluminum plating, it resembles an aeroplane. You only need to add a propellor ...

And so we 're meandering through the Duch landscape of the Hollandsche Polders.
Lady and gentlemen, thanks for this ride !

And for those who are interested, the route.
